I can only see that usability testing done in a controlled environment, can only provide unrealistic metrics. They are fake tests essentially  which can only get you part of the picture. Weighing the benefit against the cost is something that should be done.

I do believe they can provide some benefit, but I think it must be understood that the output is artificial.

But, then again - I could be wrong.</description>
